This is for those that are in a relationship and think that they are totally in love. My question for you is how do you define your love for the other person? If that person where to only have a few weeks or even days to live, how would you spend that time with them? Would you spend every waking moment with them that you could? Would you make the ultimate comment me to love them for the rest of your life time and marry them even though you know it would only be for a short time and end in heartbreak?
For those that have endured that heartbreak and pain, I commend you with the ultimate respect. To me this is the symbol of love that one could ever make, knowing that there would only be short time together as husband and wife.
How many of us could make that kind of a commitment in those circumstances? I know for myself I certainly could. Honestly I’m not so sure about some other people this is a very delicate issue.
Going back to the original question. How do you define love? While some say that it’s a chemical reaction in the brain that leads us to feel certain emotions and feelings. I think that I is even more basic than that. Some say that it has a lot to do with the reproduction of the human race, which we want to find the person that we think will have the greatest chance of producing children to keep a family line going. I honestly think that love is an emotion and that can’t always be explained. I even have trouble answering when asked why I love my significant other.
So back to my original question, and I’m opening this up for a good discussion in the comments. Why do you love your Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Wife, Husband, significant other? I would love to hear from you all!!!
